Which image is final? Check the version before you publish

Three similar files, one approved asset. A simple way to check source, version, rights and format.

Three versions of a product visual with the final one marked by a check

Your folder contains product-final.jpg, product-final-2.jpg and product-final-new.jpg. One received a color adjustment, another has corrected label text, and the third was exported for a mobile listing. Which one is actually approved?

A filename cannot answer that question. A release decision needs four visible facts: source, version, intended use, and human approval. Record them before handing the image to an editor or marketplace manager.

Trace the original

Keep the original separate from derived images. Record who supplied it and what permission you have to use it. If it shows a person, check consent for the intended use. For a product image, compare packaging, color, quantity and variant with the item being sold.

Yasnora AI provides a file Library for originals and derived assets. Image operations depend on the account and eligible plan. Version lineage helps you trace an output, but does not establish publishing rights or factual accuracy.

Review the candidate for its destination

Use a short release record:

  1. Destination: product listing, article, advertisement or social post; required size and format.
  2. Source: original file and permission to use it.
  3. Changes: what was edited and what must remain unchanged.
  4. Checks: wording, numbers, product details and mobile crop.
  5. Approval: who signed off on this exact file, and when.

If an AI tool edited the image, compare the result with the original. Background changes, enhancement and object edits can alter small details such as a label, SKU, color or item count. A more polished image still needs a factual review.

Deal with duplicates

Before exporting another version, inspect your own library for an existing approved image for that product and channel. Compare candidates side by side, including dimensions and change dates. Similar appearance does not prove identical content, and an identical filename does not prove identical pixels. If automated duplicate search is unavailable on your account, compare manually and record the selected asset in the release record.

A name such as sku-123-v3-approved-vk-4x5.jpg helps people find the file. Keep the approval record separately because a file can be renamed or forwarded.

How to start

Pick one upcoming publication. Find its original, gather the derived versions, complete the five checks, and ask another person to inspect the chosen file at actual size on a phone. Send only the approved version to the publishing queue.

Our team media review guide covers roles and rights. This workflow adds the final question: which exact file passed that review?

FAQ

Can I identify the final file from its creation date? No. An older file may have been approved later, while the newest export may still be a draft.

Does finding no duplicate mean the image is unique? No. A check inside your library is not an internet-wide search and does not establish ownership.

Should I keep the original after editing? Yes. It supports source tracing and detail comparison.

Can I publish immediately after AI enhancement? Review the text, product attributes, permissions and crop for the destination first.
