AI models change. How do you build a workflow that survives?

Define the task, output and review rules so a model change does not break the business workflow.

Abstract diagram of a stable workflow around changing AI models

A team selects a model by name, integrates it, and later finds that the output has changed. The deeper issue is that the task never had a stable input definition, quality criteria, or human review rule.

Specify a capability, not a model brand

Define the durable task: “extract line items from an invoice,” “find the relevant section in the approved policy,” or “draft an answer with sources.” Then define the result contract: fields, evidence links, acceptable error conditions, latency, data handling, and what to do when the answer is uncertain. Models can be evaluated or replaced within that boundary without changing the purpose of the work.

This is a design principle, not an announcement of a separate Yasnora API or model catalog. A model name never removes the need to verify results.

Example: an incoming invoice

“Let AI read the PDF” is underspecified. Require supplier, date, invoice number, line items, total, and currency, each tied to a page or region of the source. If line totals disagree with the invoice total, return a conflict for review instead of inventing an adjustment.

The same principle applies to images: extracted text, a description, and publication approval are different outputs. Yasnora AI supports chat, document, and image workflows; access to particular operations depends on the account. Company knowledge and permissions are discussed in our yBiz pilot guide.

Five questions before automation

  1. What result must a human check?
  2. Which source version is authoritative?
  3. What happens when the model is uncertain or sources conflict?
  4. Which data may be used in this workflow?
  5. How will you detect a quality regression after changing a model or prompt?

Start with a small, de-identified set of real tasks. Measure field accuracy, source quality, and the share of cases sent for review rather than apparent fluency. That gives you room to change technology without losing control. Yasnora AI is part of Wicsora. See the product website for available workflows.

FAQ

Is this a new public API announcement? No. It explains a workflow design principle.

Can I change models without testing? No. Re-run a controlled sample and check format, quality, and latency.

Why keep a human reviewer? When errors matter, the responsible person must confirm the source and decision.
